Combat sports were an integral part of Andreas Katzourakis' life from the early age of 5, when he began competing as a kickboxer, following in the footsteps of his father. After 100's of kickboxing and point fighting matches, at 15, Katz turned to boxing full time.
As an amateur boxer in his native Greece, Katz won 4 Greek National Titles, with a record of 21-0, 16 wins by stoppage. It was time to turn pro, and to do so, Katz left his family behind and traveled half way across the globe touching down in California. After a brief stint at Big Bear with legendary trainer, Abel Sanchez, Katz now calls Houston, Texas home under the tutelage of hall of fame trainer Ronnie Shields.
2024 was the biggest year in Katzourakis' young career, winning the OTX x WBC 154 lb. Tournament Championship, landing him a $100K cash bonus, an OTX promotional deal, but most importantly, cementing Katz as a true player in the super welterweight division.
